You know, there are easier ways to get a guy's attention. I know I'm not the easiest guy to get a hold of, but you could try the old fashioned way, and put something up on the sky. Leave a message on a wall, or anything that doesn't include zapping me into space.

[Jason blathers away into the device he discovered, hoping it grabs the attention of whoever is responsible for him being here. Maybe it will distract them and keep them from collecting him right away. In the meantime, he's making his way through the different floors of the Barge, trying to gather anything he can turn into a weapon and gain some information on his current whereabouts.]

Same goes for you. Are the two of you from the same universe? So many damn universes out there, I'm going to have to invest in some Post-its.

[That has to hurt. But in that brief introduction he had sounded so alive, so much like the Bruce that she knows.]

Is he like yours? Or is he as different as I am from your Selina?

He's almost exactly like mi-- the one I knew.

But he's so much like the Bruce I know it's hard to remember sometimes. [Hence the very fast attachment and alliance she was willing to give him.]

[She doesn't say anything, but the acceptance is there in her tone. She'll treat Jason as if he is Bruce's, if it means Bruce being so alive again.]

What does he know so far?

Same here, except he actually did something about the Joker. [At a steep cost.]

About the ship? Most of the important things. About the others... they're from his universe, he knows them better than I do.

Mm, so did mine. And that was such a shock to everyone.... The only real difference between the Bruce here and the one in my world is that mine never had and never wanted any kids or sidekicks. He didn't even take help from me, really.

Look at us, the odd ones out. Again. But no, honey, I meant about our traps and schemes. Are we keeping that a secret or will he be an extra set of hands?

[She used a term of endearment oh dear he's a little flustered so he just keeps quiet until he can keep his tone level:] Three heads are better than two.

Only difference? That's a big difference. How'd that workout for him? [A Batman without a Robin is a troubling thought.]

Hard to say. Alfred took good care of him. Then we started dating and he started thinking 'normal life'. Then I got him shot.

...Did he survive?

[At first she thinks the pause is because he didn't hear, or he ended the feed. When he speaks and she realizes he was just quiet, she smiles. Oh, Bruce.] He's not going to sell us out, is he?

Never.

[She wants to say yes. But her life really doesn't tend to go that well. Besides, the evidence points to him either dying of blood loss or in the fire she caused.]

No.

Look, I don't believe in second chances, and this theory of redemption is just a fluffy load of bullshit. But the fact is he showed up here, and maybe he's not the guy I got killed, but he's close enough. I'm hoping you'll get around to seeing it that way too.

Then we'll give him the full initiation.

[He chuckles softly.] He was your favourite, back home.

Fuck.

[Mutters the word underneath his breath and his eyes avert to the side. Forces the memories trying to surge to the surface back into his subconscious.]

I already do, we've met outside of here. This isn't my first rodeo through the multiverse, I've traveled through it before.

He might be my favorite here. [There's the usual teasing lilt in her tone, but she also means it.] I see why you like him.

What happened last time you met him?

He hasn't told you yet?

Some things are too difficult to change. [He usually might have said this about Dick, and sounded incredibly bitter. But today he means it about Jason, and there's pride and joy along with that.]

I said he was close enough for me. I don't think he's accepted me the same way yet.
