You know, there are easier ways to get a guy's attention. I know I'm not the easiest guy to get a hold of, but you could try the old fashioned way, and put something up on the sky. Leave a message on a wall, or anything that doesn't include zapping me into space.

Don't get me wrong. I appreciate you saving my ass and all, but I don't do the whole "space travel" thing any more. Though something tells me you're not going to take "no" for an answer, are you?

[Jason blathers away into the device he discovered, hoping it grabs the attention of whoever is responsible for him being here. Maybe it will distract them and keep them from collecting him right away. In the meantime, he's making his way through the different floors of the Barge, trying to gather anything he can turn into a weapon and gain some information on his current whereabouts.]

Boringly. Nobody died, and the instigator got bored with it. The homicidal maniacs know how to pick their battles. [ Mostly. Except for Ladd. But then she doesn't think Ladd has killed anyone in the last week, so yay? ]

Too many. But I've seen some of them graduate. [ Like Amanda and Hoffman. And if they could do it, maybe others could too. ]

It may be weird but it's still prison. We get everything from drug addicts to serial killers.

No you can't. Not like that, anyway. Death isn't permanent, it only takes about a week to fully recover. And you know what they say about an eye for an eye.

Heh, that's why you take out both of their eyes before they can get to yours.

They're supposed to be here to learn to be less violent, not to obsess over getting back at you. And there's a whole lot of eyes for you to scratch if you want to come away clean around here.

From what I've heard about this place so far, nothing about it screams "rest and relaxation". If anything, it sounds like the kind of place that's likely to piss off a bunch of crazed maniacs and make them go nuts.

It's really bad for the people who's main problem is that they're depressed. But people do graduate, given the chance. It tends to help if they aren't spending all of their time killing each other and getting killed back.

Depends what works. Believe it or not, some people just need better friends or a different perspective. Talking to people from different worlds with different ideas.

Honestly? I grew up. I was handed a second chance and I was so sick of screwing everything up all the time, I made sure I did it right.

I screwed up so bad it was easier to be dead than have to look my own mother in the face. Yeah, I think I screwed up.

I really don't think that's why you're here. Although your reaction afterwards might have something to do with it. I don't know.

Okay, let's try another scenario.

When I was in Russia, I came across a guy who was sold children into slavery. I'm sure you can guess what happened to those kids when they were handed over to the buyer. I knew for a fact that if I turned this guy into the authorities, he would have been released and back in business.

Was it a mistake to kill him and save those kids? Because even if those kids had been rescued, he would have rounded up more kids to sell.

Jason... I'm not going to argue methodology with you. You work differently than I do. Maybe it's wrong, maybe it's right. I'm not going to tell you you shouldn't have saved those kids. But you don't think there might be something wrong when you start going after people who don't deserve it?
